Wednesday I thought I was feeling better so I went in to the office for staff meeting. I ate lunch with the guys, but started feeling achey again after that. I took care of a couple of things for Men's Fraternity and then went home, headed straight for the ibuprofen, a hot bath and the couch. I didn't start feeling well again until about 8 or 9pm.
I didn't want to repeat my relapse Thursday, so I stayed home that morning and felt well enough by noon to go in and work for awhile. We had to take Austin up to the church at 7pm for the kickoff to Refuge Weekend (Disciple Now) and Holly and I worked the church directory pictorial table for a couple hours and then we all went home.
Early Friday morning I had to pray with a young girl before she had surgery on a broken finger and then I went and ate breakfast at one of my favorite places in Tomball called The Nook. I always feel like it's a special treat when I get to eat a big breakfast out. I went on in to the office and had a lot to do after being sick. Holly called about 1:30pm and wanted to come in town and eat lunch with me so that was a special treat again! I went home about 3:30 or so and then took Austin to his host home for Refuge about 6:30pm. Tyler had a friend over to spend the night and so Holly and I watched a movie together.
Saturday was a pretty lazy day. Tyler's friend invited him over to spend the night at his house, so Holly and I had most of the day to ourselves. About 7pm I went up to the church to finish some work and got to see Austin at the Refuge meeting. He was having a great weekend. I got home about 10pm.
Sunday morning went over pretty well, although I started out a bit nervous. Anytime I miss a Sunday for vacation or whatever the next Sunday always feels like starting over for me, so I'm a little nervous for whatever reason, but we had a great morning of worship. We had band rehearsal at 4pm (which meant I was up there at 3pm preparing) and we kicked off the new semester of FBC University (Discipleship) at 6pm. Here are the courses we offered:
The Truth Project
The Call to Follow Christ
Jesus on Money
The Five Love Languages
What Happens When Women Pray
We had about 60 people here for all of those, so I was pleased. I sat in on The Truth Project and although it was a long video (1 hour) I think it's going to be really good.
